Hand-scraped Engineered Hardwood Floating Floor

What is Hand-scraped Engineered Hardwood Floating Flooring?

As the name implies, hand-scraped engineered hardwood flooring are unique aged, handmade style flooring created by variety of tools and techniques such as:

  • Using a scraping tool to dig indentations into the flooring
  • Sanding the floor unevenly to leave visible saw marks between or on planks
  • Customizing unique look with random markings and stains
  • Using different colors of stain to achieve an antique, distressed look

Why chose Hand-scraped Engineered Hardwood Floating Flooring?

With a rich, authentic appearance, these floors reflect true craftsmanship but with the simplicity of a prefinished product bring out the wood's natural grain which works perfectly with many interior design styles. There are 5 colors and wood species to choose from.

Distressed VS Hand-Scraped

Distressed engineered hardwood flooring is done by machine or by hand. In an effort to reduce high labor costs, manufacturers have created machine-made distressed/scraped looking floors. The downside with machine distressing is repetition of the pattern. As you look across the floor you see the same pattern repeating across the floor, which lacks a natural feel to the floor.

Our hand-scraped engineered flooring is done by hand. When properly done this method creates a truly unique floor. These floors differ greatly in the amount of the texture added to the floor and the skill of the person scraping the floor.

Worried about the durability?

Because our hand-scraped engineered flooring already have marks, scrapes and wear patterns in them, some of the stress of purchasing hardwood floors is eliminated. You won't be nearly as worried about a toddler throwing toys, a rambunctious pet running on it or even dropping a dinner plate. Any additional markings that you create through everyday life will just add more character to the floor, not damage or ruin it.
